Promo:
We are all working together to make this a great show. Please make sure to promote and try to draw at least 10-15 people. With each of us promoting and working to draw this small group of people tothe show, we can collectively pack the venues we play. When promoting this low number, work on strategically promoting by targeting your emails, texts, phone calls to specific people so that you can ensure your draw. Make sure to let people know that they're not just paying to see you play 3 songs, they're paying to see 9 GREAT artists play 27 songs done in a format they've never seen before.
Please use the official "The 9" logo. Please incorporate that in any promotional material you may generate for the show. I'll work on some custom artwork for this show and share when that is complete.
Here is the official description of the show:
"Founded in 2008 by singer/songwriter Justin Trawick, "The 9 Songwriter Series" is a touring songwriter collective and live show based in Washington, DC. The show was created with the idea of nine artists getting together and combining their talents in order to play in nicer clubs and to larger amounts of people. Each installment features nine solosinger/songwriters performing together in a unique and captivating format, telling stories, and often sitting in each each other and making up music on the spot. Where else can you hear almost 30 songs from nine different artists in one evening and often for only $10? To date, over 300 different artists have participated in "The 9", at shows in DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Fairfield, Boston, Richmond, Charlottesville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New Orleans.

Pay:
Artists each get 1/10th of the money collected from ticket sales. The more we all collectively draw, the more we all make!
The Show:
Set Order:
Set order is decided the night of by picking names out of a hat. When you promote this show, promote the show as a whole. Let them know that you play twice throughout the evening and to come see you and all the other great singer/songwriters on the lineup. We want this show to be one big theatrical event, not just a string of 9 separate shows.
Introduction: I'll get on stage and do a small introduction followed by introducing the first performer. That that point forth, each performer will introduce the next performer. Be excited about the artist your introducing so we can keep the crowd excited.
Set 1:
- we go through the entire group one by one and everyone does two (2) songs. You can talk to the crowd, tell stories, etc.
Set 2:
- we go through the entire group again and everyone does one (1) song. This will be the "Encore Set" where the audience gets a final great taste of each artist.
Collaboration:
During both sets, you may ask people on the lineup to sit in with you. Maybe someone plays lead guitar or piano and will back you up on one of your songs. Or maybe someone else will learn harmony vocals and sing with you. Collaboration is a HUGE part of this show so please work to sit in or have someone sit in with you at least once in the show.
With changeover's between artists, please remember that I want them seamless with as little time in between as possible. Artists on next should always be backstage in the "on deck" position ready to walk on stage as soon as the artist before them is done. Ideally it should be a quick the guitar chord being handed to the next artist by the previous artist with no time for house sound to come up.
We will have a digital piano on stage for those that chose to play the keys. We'll also have a cajon for anyone wanting to add some percussion.
Merchandise:
Please bring any CDs or Download Cards or Business Cards, etc as we will be setting up a Merch Table.
Thanks folks!
